FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the pots include plants?
All of our succulent pots include your choice of an air plant or succulent! Larger pots, 4" potting diameters and above, do not include plants. Our plants vary in size, shape and genus and are all unique to each order.
Can you do custom designs?
We absolutely do commissions for custom orders. If you can think it, we can design it! We can also source plants for you as well, through our variety of boutique plant wholesalers. There is no plant that we can't track down for you.
What is an air plant?
An air plant is a unique plant that doesn't need soil and gets most of its water from the air. You can often find them hanging or resting on things, and they like to be soaked in water on occasion. They are the easiest type of plant to care for!
How do I care for my plants?
At any time, please feel free to reach out to us via our contact form for plant help, even for plants that you didn't purchase through us! For a quick reference on succulent and air plant care, you can also refer to our trusted partner Heeman's large database of plant care instructions at www.heeman.ca
Do you accept returns?
Because all of our products are made-to-order, we kindly ask that no returns be requested. Our products are all custom made in our tiny suburban Los Angeles shop and are finished by hand. Each product is unique and could feature small blemishes and imperfections. We believe these "happy accidents" are what helps to make our pots unique, with a true artisan aesthetic.
How are my items shipped?
All of our pots are produced and shipped within just a few days, and often arrive within one to two weeks of ordering. Pots with plants are carefully packaged and shipped from our shop in Los Angeles. Apparel, accessories and other non-plant merchandise is shipped from our manufacturing partners and shipping time is contingent upon their workload at the time.
What is PLA?
At Doom & Bloom, we are steadfast in our mission to create a greener, more sustainable, future. All of our originally designed and manufactured planters and pots are made with PLA (polylactic acid) - a 100% biosourced and biodegradable substance that aligns perfectly with our commitment to the environment.
PLA is not just any ordinary plastic. It originates from sustainable biomass like fermented plant starch obtained from sources such as corn, cassava, sugarcane and sugar beet pulp. This not only reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, but also emphasizes our eco-friendly nature. This transformation from plant to bioplastic helps significantly decrease CO2 emissions, with PLA releasing three times less CO2 compared to traditional plastics. This means every pot you buy from us helps reduce the carbon footprint, contributing to the collective fight against climate change.
As the demand for sustainable alternatives like bioplastics grows, Doom & Bloom is proud to be at the forefront of this environmental revolution. By choosing our PLA pots and planters, you are not only adopting a sustainable lifestyle but also advocating for the planet's health. Thank you for joining us in our journey towards a more sustainable future.
